{"id":2616,"date":"2026-03-25T14:26:39","date_gmt":"2026-03-25T13:26:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/gamie.org\/the-eu-youth-strategy-game-workshop\/"},"modified":"2026-05-05T09:29:57","modified_gmt":"2026-05-05T07:29:57","slug":"the-eu-youth-strategy-game-workshop","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/gamie.org\/et\/the-eu-youth-strategy-game-workshop\/","title":{"rendered":"\u200b\u200bThe EU Youth Strategy game workshop\u200b"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The\u00a0EU Youth Strategy game\u00a0is a concept created\u00a0by\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Lahti city Youth Services\u00a0DramaLab, a group of young people\u00a0aged 18-25 (approx.)\u00a0and the youth workers of\u00a0DramaLab,\u00a0on commission by Finnish National\u00a0Agency for Education\u00a0(EDUFI), to teach youth about European Youth\u00a0Strategy and\u00a0it\u2019s\u00a0values.\u00a0The method and\u00a0it\u2019s\u00a0materials have been published online for free use\u00a0by\u00a0EDUFI.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The game is played in\u00a0small groups\u00a0of maximum 5 people.\u00a0Each group is given a game character, who has their own wants, needs,\u00a0skills\u00a0and obstacles in life. Each character and their story also represent\u00a0some\u00a0of the EU youth values. The group will go through\u00a01-5 exercises as their character.\u00a0Each of the exercises\u00a0presents a situation where the participants\u00a0have to\u00a0think, discuss, weigh\u00a0options\u00a0and make choices for the character to advance towards their goal.\u00a0In the beginning the groups\u00a0pick a character, make up more background and personality for them, and read about the EU youth values associated with the character.\u00a0Then the groups go through the exercises selected beforehand by the facilitator.\u00a0In each one,\u00a0a situation is presented, where the character\u00a0has to\u00a0make a smaller or bigger choice, or get through a challenge.\u00a0The group\u00a0discusses and writes down ideas and choices\u00a0they would make.\u00a0An outcome is not really given to these situations.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The goal is\u00a0through personal stories and realistic situations to bring the EU youth strategy goals closer to the participant\u2019s\u00a0everyday\u00a0life and make them more approachable and understandable.\u00a0The facilitator\u00a0will guide the groups through the game\u00a0and hold a wrap up discussion for them at the end of the game.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Introductions about EDUFI\u2019s Young people,\u00a0values\u00a0and EU -materials are\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.oph.fi\/en\/young-people-values-and-eu\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">published here<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\">.
